No. There are already too many digital media stores that sell DRM-locked content that can't be played on competitors' devices/apps. We don't need another one. I assume anything sold on Steam couldn't be played on anything other than my home computer if they were to do this, and that kind of defeats the purpose of buying digital media.

It'll be interesting to see the trade market for this though if it were to happen. Though I doubt the movies will ever be on a huge sale. But it'll be cool to see people trading movies as well.

If anything, they should sell more games soundtracks, so we don't have to buy them on iTunes/Amazon.

As much as I'd like to see an alternative to Apple's service (from which I will never buy anything), I'd rather not see Steam compromise on games to add support for stuff like movies.

netflix... Gladly, but: Sorry, Netflix is not available in your country... yet

So thats a no go.

In my opinion, companies kill their profit by adding DRM, anti-piracy policies and so on. They should just sell cheaper. Not everyone can afford something, that is costly, not everyone has really good salary and not in every country. Not everyone wishes to have hundreds of DVDs and other media with no place for art or family photos on the wall . And, after all, whats good about DRM, when anybody can buy DVD or Blu-ray movie or music or anything in retail store and copy it as he wishes? I would really like to have all my multimedia content in one place, in one internet store system, but with possibility to play everywhere I want. But since 99,9% of people are greedy bastards, it looks utopic

At least I would by happy, if Steam would support older games like those on GOG. Cant Steam just buy GOG?

I think we have netflix for this. If netflix is not avaible in your country, I bet there is places where you can pay to watch movies online.
