Agreed, it was a bad idea in the first place, there really needs to be at least be an option to disable it.

Agreed as well... and expand this option to the Workshop as well... I don't want a notification when someone posted a comment on someone else's workshop item where I've posted before. It's very annoying and I tend to not writing any comments anymore (even delete my old ones) because of this.

This notification feature is only a nice idea for your own profile/workshop items.

I like to know when somebody commented on my workshop submissions. Emphasis on "my".

Don't remove it all, just let us be able to activate notifications about chosen submissions.

agreed. whenever I see the little green light show up showing that there's an "important" message, I'm always expected a new friend invite for something, or that I had received something from someone else.

instead, I'm greeted to a notification that someone posted a comment on the same profile as someone I commented on and then deleted as a friend as it was just rep for a trade, and the person's profile is private, so I can't even delete my comment or see what the new comments are.

if nothing else, don't notify us that someone made a comment when the very profile you link us to is private.

I would like to be able to disable notifications for comments.

I dont care if someone commented on something. if I did, I would check it manually.

It would be nice to be able to disable ALL notifications, too. If someone sends me a gift, I will know the second I sign into Steam anyway and I dont really use the "game invite" feature in Steam. I also am never planning on requesting a friend any time in the future, so I dont need that, either.
