A list of what is allowed VAC game modifications.

Hey, I've heard that certain Half-Life mods, such as Paranoia, might cause a VAC ban.

Well, I downloaded the mod Sandpit, which has an .exe for installing it. I'm wondering if it's safe.

Wrong about CSGO, I got vac banned from it. And it did ban me from all hl2 engine games.

Seems like you don't have a beta key for CS:GO. From your other posts, it seems you had it for a short while, lost it and are trying to get it back. So I'm confused as to how you got banned in those few hours, and from all other HL2 games when BurtonJ made it pretty clear that's not how VAC works.

He got banned for cheating obviously on CS:GO, using drawothermodels does not trigger a vac ban unless he was using some sort of sv_cheats bypass which is possible

Will you get banned for using a custom DLL file to make a non VAC game widescreen and then going to play a VAC secured game?

Greetings. I came here with a question as well. Has any of you heard or used a Half Life mod called Scientist SlauterHouse: Mod Messup #1 - WTF Is it VAC safe?
I was thinking about installing it. But since I've heard there are some "unsecure".

I haven't installed it yet. but since op said.

Which means I probably should not install it.

I am a little bit nervous, since I really loved the game and I want to start modding it without any VAC misunderstandings in the future. That's why I'm coming here to ask. I appreciate your help. If by any means this question belongs to the Half Life forums just tell me and i'll delete the post and move my question there.

TL;DR I want to know if by experience you can tell me more about Scientist SlauterHouse: Mod Messup #1 half life mod and It's VAC status.

I highly doubt it as that file is most likely in the folder of the non-steam game, if you are really worried, restart your computer after playing that game.

I can't say it's safe because I haven't used it, but I have not seen people here complaining about getting banned for using it either. I'll read up on this more.

I am pretty sure this mod is fine and that the dll only runs when the mod is launched.
