PvZ not working just bougth it :s
Hi.
I just bought Plants vs Zombies for pc (the game of the year edition) after installing it when i try to play It black screens but if I Alt+Tab I find another window saying: 'BASS_ChannelSetAttributes function not found in bass.dll' Now I did find another post refering to some sort of Asus GX sound or something but I don't think I have it. I do have an Asus motherboard but not GX as far as I know. Any help someone could give would be invaluable. |

You probably have a bass.dll in your c:\Windows\ directory. According to PopCap support moving it should fix the issue.
But also according to this thread running the game in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode should do the trick. Go to your \Steam\steamapps\common\plants vs zombies\ directory. Right click PlantsVsZombies.exe and click Properties Click the Compatibility tab. Tick the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Make sure Windows XP Service Pack 3 is selcted and click Apply. Then click OK Last edited by MonkeySeeker: 05-16-2012 at 04:33 AM. |

I had the same problem. There was a file in c:\Windows\system32 called "bass.dll" that was confusing the game, which also uses a different file called bass.dll. I renamed the file the game worked fine.
So either deleting or renaming the existing bass.dll should fix it, but you should make a backup if you delete it in case another program turns out to need the file. |
