is there a list of vac bans? how many have been banned?


PB used to have a website showing a pist of bans!

We have now over 86 millions of SteamIDs in our database. 1.74% of existing Steam accounts are currently VAC banned.

Does number of SteamID = Steam accounts?
I didn't think accounts got deleted?

They can certainly be disabled for fraud etc.

Accounts created, have no games added and are then left unused for a while, will get deleted.

Any account with a purchased game on it will NEVER get deleted.

The deletion thing was mentioned ages on on here by.... i think it was Mike or Chewee, but it was a LONG time ago.

They do reserve the right to terminate your account, they reserve many rights, however they have said they never get deleted - which isn't the same as something being terminated. I can terminate a contract, the contract still existed, its just ended. They can also suspend your account, lock your account, remove games from your account, disable the account, whatever they like, again, this isn't deleting the account.

Only inactive accounts containing no games are deleted. Accounts cannot be deleted by request.

I still disagree that an account will "NEVER get deleted"
Valve maybe have no intention of doing so, and they state that accounts wont be deleted by request, but remember such things are only digital records. There may be a scenario where even by accident or techical error, an account information may be erased. Naturally, one assumes there are contingencires and backups to preent such issues but unless youhav e some kind of psychic knowledge of the future, you cannot guarantee such things, and shouldn't use the word "NEVER" when it's not even yourself who is responsible for such.

I think it's quite apparent that the context used for "never" is excepting error or unforeseen circumstance. It's certainly legally correct, too.
