Yes, Groups should be updated for sure, they're really lagging behind all the other community upgrades.
Especially the comment box for community groups, it's still using the older format of community profiles, and has not been given the newly formatting feature either, or any sort of integration with the notification system has been brought to the groups. |

Steam Groups have a lot of potential and after seeing Mike's posts earlier, I have faith that Valve will improve them considerably.
I envision an integration of these forums into the Steam Community a bit more to improve and combine notifications / activity, allow chat and PM linking and perhaps private groups / forums for clans. The suggestions in this thread are largely decent but might be long-term improvements. At the moment though, simply allowing hyperlinks in group announcements would be a simple but major step towards improvement. |

Some announcements are made in the early morning and they are sort of "hidden" after 10 announced giveaways - or something else. I have no idea why you have the view of "there are no active groups out there". There are a lot .... and they would be quite more active if this damn steam community group feature would be better. If you don't believe me, here is the link to my group....you can check the activity on your own ![]() Apart from this - improvements are better than stagnation. |

I would like to see more details on group members.
ATM more information is given about people who make comments than about the members of the group. The only group member who's name is shown is the group player of the week. I would like to see, the members names, group join date, Steam join date, VAC status, Trade status, Steam rating, last online, game count. These would make administration of a group much easier and give useful information without having to open each profile individually. |

We made a list to make it easier for us to manage our group... thats a poor sign for the steam community feature: it's not possible to manage a group to 100% only with steam. You need additional lists & notes,.... |

When I started with Steam you had to use IRC to find a match to play and to organise a clan. What we have now is a huge improvement on that. There are lots of things we would like, but lets tell them. |
