Abe's Oddysee Crashes My Computer

Hi everybody.

The other week I downloaded The Oddboxx and I can't start Abe's Oddysee. When I try to I get one little glimpse of pre-game credits before a noise starts looping over and over and the screen goes black. Eventually I have to remove the battery to get the computer to shutdown. How do I remedy this?

(the other three games have problems too but I figure it's best to tackle one problem at a time)

I'm using a standard Toshiba Satellite E300.

I'm not terribly computer literate but is my laptop just not up to scratch to handle the games?
It seemed to run the Portal games just fine.

Any help would be much appreciated.

We're having the same issue in this thread:

But the guys at Just Add Water are aware of it and are going to look into it.

I probably should've looked around a little before I posted my own thread.

Sounds like a direct copy of my problem, yeah!

The looping sounds are from the game, I think, it just skips over and over.
