You had me all hyped about finally getting Borderlands for my xbox 360, but when I checked the sale price was for the PC version, and only the standard version of Borderlands, not the GOTY edition.

To further my disappointment, I couldn't even find the GOYT edition on XBL. Only the standard edition (19.95), so Borderlands + all DLC, I would have to spend about $50.

No blaming you, just noting the huge price difference between XBL and Steam.

Yes, that is the GOTY edition for the xbox 360 on DVD. That is the best deal I've seen so far, and its never gone on sale that I know of. For reasons I don't understands, 360 games on XBL rarely go on sale.

Xbox Live is somewhat like Steam except its for the 360. They do sell PC games as well, but mostly its for the 360. Got to pay a monthly subscription to get all the features.

In our household, we've put about 210 hours into it total -- but that's 140 for me and 70 for my wife. It's been excellent value for $15.00 (two GOTY copies on Steam sales at $7.49 each.)

According to Steam, I just passed 1800 hours, but, until recently, I hadn't really been playing for several months. According to BL, I've got over 28 days of game time with my first character (soldier), which is basically as much as all of the other characters combined.

bought it the day it came out. 7 solo play throughs, 3 co-op playthroughs.

Diablo 3 is out, Battlefield 3 came out, etc etc and I still go back to BL when I have a few extra minutes.

212 hours here on the Steam counter.

Originally bought it for Xbox and played it to death on the console first (vanilla no dlc's).

I just keep coming back for more

I currently have 95 hours according to Steam, only played co-op when I did
a little LAN with my brother and a friend. The game is excellent when you're
playing it that way

^^ What was being sold was the PC version on the XBL site, so those who bought it would be using Gamespy like the rest of us.

The thing is, the gamers who got suckered into to such a XBL bad deal only find out that they out bought they standard edition, not GOTY edition. If they like the game, then they will need to buy each DLC at $10 per DLC. Which means they will have spent about $50 for everything. On Steam, GOTY costs under $10 when on sale.

There are always people starting fresh with new characters. In fact I'd say the majority of games that pop up are full of noobs.
