Error: -130
Hi,
Since yesterday I am having some issues with my Steam. The Shop, News and Community show the same message: “Error Code: -130 Failed to load web page (unknown error)” I already have uninstalled steam and scanned pc for virus (Comodo). I can see my library and play the games. Can anybody help me? |

I'm getting the same issue, updated network drivers and no success.
I can view my library, download games in my library and play games that have been downloaded. I just can't view the store, news or community pages. They all appear fine in all my web browsers though. i7 2700K Corsair H80 ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z HD6970 2GB Crucial M4 128GB (system) OCZ Vertex2 120GB (games) Corsair AX-850 Fractal Arc Mini Windows 7 Pro 64bit It was all working fine yesterday, I did a format and reinstall and am now having these issues. |

I am still having this issues... the only good news is that I'm not the only one having this problem.
No one has any idea? |

A friend of mine is getting the exact same error on Shop, News and Community pages. She also gets the same message (Error Code: -130 (Unable to load web page unknown error) when she tries to view the Workshop for Skyrim.
She is able to subscribe to mods using http://www.steamcommunity.com, but when she loads the game the mods won't download and she gets "Steam error 16", which is a network connection error, but her internet is fine. Since Steam updated recently I'm guessing this is a bug? She has messaged Steam Support and has a ticket number, so if she gets a reply I will post it in this thread. |

The Steam Support has already replied to me and it is now solved.
Heres the response to help anyone with the same issue: "Exit Steam. Click Start > Run (or Windows Key + R) Type inetcpl.cpl and click OK. Click the Connections tab. Click the LAN settings button. Note: You may want to write down the settings currently found in this window if you need to undo these steps later. If any items on this window are checked, uncheck them. Click OK to close any open windows and restart your computer. Now, launch Steam and test the issue." Hope it helps. |

This had me wigging out a little...
Bravo to you guys! I'm a little less uptight now that I don't have to give the Support Team a few laps around the proverbial customer service field.

I had this same error too. I had to change Firefox to disable Proxy settings. Somehow, this all happened when I simply turned on my computer. Odd. But thanks for posting the fix.
