The Nancy Drew series is actually very good. Also the Sherlock Holmes series, which is here on Steam as well. EA also publised a couple of "Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes" games in the mid-90's, the better of which is the CD version of "The Case of the Rose Tattoo". If you can get into the hidden-object type of game, which I personally can't very often, there are a ton of mysteries to choose from. The "Art of Murder" series isn't too bad.
I never got the appeal of Hidden Object. I personally find it gimmicky and quite bland.

I just got Nancy Drew: The Haunting at Castle Malloy but I keep getting a flashing black screen when I reach Nancy's Desk.
Looks like HaCM isn't playable for me at the moment.

Any other ND games that can be recommended? I've played Alibi in Ashes and Warnings at Waverly Academy.

If you can find it "The Last Express" is awesome and has tons of replay value. it's old but holds up well even today.

Too bad it's not on Steam.

What's the Broken Sword series like? It looks mildly interesting and there seems to be a general lack of mystery titles that interest me so I'll be taking Point-and-Click recommendations too.

I also have my eye on Lost Horizon.
