Yes, although not directly. Still, the message was loud and clear:

It's not a message to the group.

No, but I think it's enough. We're not attention-seeking here, we were just hoping Valve would say something; not something to us as a group, but to everyone in the community. And that, in my opinion, has been done. Now it's time to show our appreciation, which we are doing in the form of the collage.

Exactly. There has been no official response. Though, I do think Gabe opened up a bit, which I'm not sure is a direct result of our group or just a coincidence.

There has still been no recognition for the 60,000 who've joined our cause, only more obscure hints and references in gaming interviews, much like we've seen in the past.

Screw the response directly to us! I want to see how the gallery is coming along! I'm excited to see everyone's work!

A response would be nice... via the announcement of an announcement of anything HL3 related!

Ok I can see how what Gabe said could be (and probily is a reaspons) from him. But they had 5 year, from half-lifw 2 to episode 2, hl only got more and more popular in that time. Teh they just stop after episode 2 and havent really done anything but some storyline ideas? O common, that just being mean to the fans, or stupid, or one of the worst case or writters block I'v ever heard of. Gabe please, you dont need to give of detales. We just wajnt to know, have you, or are you guys been working on hl2ep3??? Or did you forget about us?? All they need to say is "yes we have been working on the game for some time, we dident forget about you guys at all, but not ready to talk about the game yet, hang in there a while longer." If they sed that then I would be happy and very releeved. But they dont..... > >_< D:< >:0 . rage quit/(secerty praying to hear something)

I think it was a culmination of the whole communities efforts. Before the STEAM group and other fans efforts there was a black hole of nothingness, and now we have something, finally something straight from the man himself.
P.S. What's the dead line on the gallery, I need to stop procrastinating and put my imagination cap on.

Surf, I think you're a great member of these forums. I truly do.

With that being said, this mosaic project has been poorly-run and mishandled from the get-go. How am I supposed to feel confident that this mosaic will be completed properly and personally handed over to VALVe when a simple gallery page cannot be uploaded onto the group website? I was the first one to offer my share of constructive criticism a few months ago when I said that it would probably be best to not keep missing dates for the gallery...

The gallery will be available on or around 12th May 2012. Apologies that this is taking a while!

I realize that you are not the one that is in charge of this gallery, but even your statement about it being put up before the submission deadline never came into fruition. If it is a challenging task to upload this gallery, then by all means take your time. I don't want to rush you, but this wait for the gallery is becoming slightly absurd. If you take a look at the call for communication steam group, several of the comments express the general sense of frustration and disappointment that we are beginning to feel towards this project.

I hope things turn around. I just want to be assured that this gallery/mosaic actually turns up before Half-Life 3 itself does. I mean, what's the point of complaining about Valve Time when CFC is running on it as well?

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for writing this, you make great points.

The comment about the gallery being up before the submission deadline was my mistake. I had forgotten the deadline was approaching so soon, and have extended it.

I agree; the project has been handled very poorly. I'm doing everything I can to figure out when we can take the date down and really get an idea for when the gallery can be posted.

I apologize to everyone for the missed dates and general delay.

One thing worth pointing out, however, is that we never started the group because of how long HL has taken but rather because how little communication we've received from Valve. I feel like I'm clear about the current situation and have been providing updates regularly.

It's been a busy time (for the project leader in particular). I'll do everything I can to get the gallery finished and on display.
