[BUG]Friend Says Offline but still sending messages

I think I've discovered a bug.

Sometimes I will receive messages from friends but not be able to reply because it says they're offline. Of course its impossible to send messages when in offline mode. It also only displays their avatar as the default '?'

Its happened with multiple friends and I believe it occurs when you are have a chat window with them open, then switch over to another computer and log into your steam account there.

The first computer will say someone else has logged on and the login needs to be refreshed while the second computer operates steam normally. Just thought I'd report my findings.

I've had this happen multiple times with various friends.

It seems to occur more so when the community goes up and down for a bit. Some people stay offline for me, though they are online, and when they message me, they're offline to me and I can't respond. All they need to do is restart Steam, and they'll be online once more.

I've seen this happen before as well. All I did was restart Steam, and my friend appeared back 'Online'.

Blocking then unblocking the friend will make them appear properly again, if for some reason you don't want to/arent able to restart the client right then

I've been having this issue as well. Seems to have some correlation with Steam community chat rooms.
