Nothing to do

I haven't played in a few months, so i started playing trying to remember what i had to do, but couldn't find anything to do. I thought i was doing something wrong, until no matter which star system i went to, there was NOTHING TO DO. The maps are featureless and there are no enemies or even stations to visit. I've visited about 20 random areas and have twice seen a few enemies attack my baseship, but that's it.

I tried restarting a few times but nothing changed and all i can do is hit a few random floating resources floating near the base ship before jumping off to another area. No warp gates, nothing.

What's going on? This game seems completely broken to me now.

By not playing it for a few months?? Validate did nothing.

Ffs, that's 25 hours worth of gameplay potentially lost for no good reason.
Where are the developers on this forum? Surely this is update related? I mean, it worked, then it didn't, and all i did was let my save game sit there unplayed...

Hi Barfarina, if you send your savegame to contact@spazgame.com, I will take a look at it to see what's up. There is also a file called console.log that is located where your spazgame.exe is. This will report anything out of the ordinary. It sounds like a corrupted save file to me.

We also try to visit the forums as much as possible still, but have begun taking weekends off.

If you have multiple saves, I would try one of the other ones, to see if this issue is only with your latest save.

The save game files are in the following directory on XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\MinMaxGames\SpacePiratesAndZombies\b_save

The path will be somewhat similar on Win7 and Vista, but not exactly the same.

I will need both the si_savename.cs and the sg_savename.cs.dso files.

There have been lots of updates to SPAZ since release, adding new content etc. But as far as we know, all saves are forward compatible, and the new content simply inserts itself into your game. Since this is the first we are hearing of this issue and it has been a while since the last patch, it likely points to a corruption in a file somewhere or some weird special case that we missed. Anyhow we will get you up and running and sorry for the problems.

I am currently out of town (checking mail and forums on my Macbook) but will get on this as soon as I am back. My partner Richard (Narlak on Steam) is also checking these forums, so you may have heard from him already. We plan to get this sorted out for you as soon as possible.

Have a great day
