Stealing is bugged

Stealing in NBA 2K12 is either bugged or just barely works. My player’s stealing skill is as high as possible, but he’s just as bad as stealing as he was when it was as low as possible. I time my steals perfectly, but I can’t get a steal without some help from my player and every time I go for a steal he waits until the pass has been completed then does a prance through the air, often moving his hands in the opposite direction the ball went in. Or he’ll just wait until the pass is completed and then move his hands off to the right when the ball went to the left etc. This is so frustrating, rarely does he ever try to steal the ball when I push X (he usually waits a few seconds) and even more rarely will he move in the right direction for the ball. Timing a steal perfectly means nothing if the system is bugged in the first place, this better be fixed by 2K13, it’s so frustrating. Still managing to average twelve steals a game though
