Arf?

*Barks Happily* Hello all, my name is Dr. Kiel Young (C.Ph.T., Pharm.D.) and I played and beat Portal 2 (LOVED THE GAME!). However, I am trying to play with commentary mode on, and I find to my dissapointment that you cannot save in commentary mode. Is there a way around this? Pretty please?

I searched the forums and found nothing about this - and I read the rules, but I am still a newbie to all of this, so if I have done something to upset anyone please remember - I CAN GIVE YOU MORPHINE! Seriously though, if I break any of the forum rules (they seem straightfoward enough for me) please forgive me and let me know.

Thanks kids!

I don't think you can die in commentary mode, eliminating the need for saves. Unless you wanted to go back to commentary nodes, in which case you just click on them again.

There is some console command to allow saves. Or you can go back to the level you were in quickly by using the command "noclip", or "map sp_(anumber)_(name)", then typing "commentary 1" into the console.

It isn't death that is motivating me to save the game - I simply don't want to play entire levels and loose my progress when I shut off my computer. This isn't super mario brothers after all - there is no excuse for not having a save game feature.

I would imagine there is a console command for saving - anyone know of it or some way I can keep my state saved for when I have to turn off my computer - some of the chapters are really friggin long.
