Dan make a simple game for us to play

well Dan What do you have in store for us next I think something simple and not as complex . To publish it your self would be good . I bought this game and thought what you did was good . But you should take the work you did and make a different kind of game multiplayer game . If you could give me a website of yours where we could add thoughts of what is coming next or were we could buy your game couse what I see is you have a fan base I for one liked what you did but I think people was thrown off by the name of the game . I think people was looking for a real cival war game , but I do want to add you do have a following of people looking to play your games if you would do it your self . put together a simple project take the work you got and put it to a smaller simple project .
You sir have a gift and can go big if you do not give up and keep going . I see something like a america army or cod or bf3 or some kind of shooter game like put all your tanks / inf in a smaller map close quarter first person shooter only game .

Cool ... btw while prototyping the next project, I found a memory leak in my game engine's model loading code .... I will roll that fix into Gettysburg: Armored Warfare as well as any other updates soon. I've already found a lot of bugs...

I never was interested in your game but I saw a post from you in another thread that you were mentioning the bad reviews and such. I am glad that there is a developer out there that is honest about what the state of his game is.

There's a small game developer that made a game called Revelations 2012 and when that game not negative reviews and a lot of negative feedback from the steam community, they just ignored them and acted like their game is in good shape when it clearly wasn't.

I hope your next project is a big success. Also, creating multiplayer games is a challenge. Sometimes it's hard developing a community that will play your product for a while.

I'm making a ton of progress on my next game... Like I said it is something much less ambitious, but has a lot of awesome stuff Ive never seen in any games. I will make a post on the forum once I announce it, send me an email dgreen@radioactive-software.com if u bought Gettysburg I will give you my next game for free. Thanks for the support guys.

Btw, the changes and improvements I've made to my engine/technology are so sweeping, it will be impractical at best and impossible at worst to roll all these changes into gettysburg especially since there is next to no player base and I have no Q/A, reaources, or support on continued updates :-(

I will see if there is a way I can get the support I need to revamp Gettysburg and relaunch it with all these improvements...

Well, good luck. I hope your next game won't be published by paradox.

I've been one of the lurkers on the Radioactive forums since before Urban Empires was even in the works. Got insanely sidetracked and only noticed a few weeks back that Gettysburg was on steam, and ended up grabbing it through GMG a little while back. Have to say it's one of the most impressive indie titles I've grabbed off here, even though Paradox worked their "magic" on it and killed it for you - don't know what the heck has happened with those guys lately, they used to be so good.

Anyways, what I was going to say is somebody needs to edit the store page and let folks know there's an offline mode with bots. Sure, the multi may be pretty hit-and-miss for finding players, but I still have a working game without it.

The number of indie devs on here now that walk away from their product, or make false promises just to garner more sales is astounding, yet you've stuck with it even after getting shafted by the publisher. That's beyond cool - offering compensation to those who want it is just icing on the cake.

Ahhh, long time supporter I see :-) thanks man... Urban Empires has been so many years in the making, can't wait to release it. I've put a lot of my own cash into that game and will now release it until its what I want it to be...I feel it could be one of the best gangster games ever if implemented properly.

Thanks for the support. Be sure to email me and I'll put you guys on a list for a free copy of my next game.

Hey man... Nah all sites should be up :-o

Yep, Urban Empires ( www.urbanempires.com ) is my baby. I signed a publishing contract for it in 2005 when I was 20 yrs old. I spent 4 years writing the engine and game and $250k of my own cash on the art assets, then the publisher went bankrupt. Quite a sad situation.

I think I need to try self-publishing games directly to the gamers :-o Minecraft style...

I haven't played Gettysburg but i wanted to say that i respect Danny Green very much for his humble approach and his constant relating to the community, i like the way you honestly talk to your followers and the way you reacted to the failure of this project, i'm looking forward to your next games, hoping all the best for you.

PS: The fact that you're almost good enough to make something ambitious as Gettysburg work on your own is impressive, i'm pretty sure you'll be able to do a good job with some smaller scale project.

I was interested in purchasing Gettysburg: Armored Warfare, but after seeing the footage of the game and seeing how unfinished it seemed, my interest in it was gone and it really made me wonder why Paradox would release it in this state.

I'm interested in your new game though, Danny. It's good that you're going to self-publish the game, unlike what Paradox did to your first game.

Good luck, Danny.
