Intermittent black screen on HTC Sensation (ICS)

Hi guys, I'm running an HTC Sensation with Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and when I browse game store pages scrolling will usually make the page go black. Refreshing the page or pressing back are the only things I can do, and often refreshing will cause the screen to go black again the moment I attempt to scroll.

On the off-chance that I can actually view a page successfully, when I add the game to the cart and choose the option to make the purchase for myself, I cant get past the purchase confirmation screen as it goes black again. Refreshing on this page will send me all the way back to the games store page (with the item in my cart still), though repeating the process I can never scroll through the confirmation page as it will ALWAYS go black.

Ultimately, I just cant make purchases through Steam mobile because of this.

Ideas?

Did your phone just do the ICS update? Its possible that the app is not compatible with ICS

I'm using HTC One S with Android 4.0.3 (ICS) and HTC Sense 4.0, and I get the same issue, the easiest way for me to reproduce it was to go to steam news, and press My news or basically any other of those tabs and scroll a bit.

The app works very well for me on my Galaxy S 2 running SlimICS (4.0.4)

So it's not an ICS issue. Probably Sense related.

Sense 4.0 problem then perhaps

Can anyone running a proper AOSP build on a newer HTC device test this?

I have the same problem on my EVO 4G LTE (ICS, Sense 4.0.3), but I also had the problem with my previous phone, an HTC HD2 with a custom Android ROM (Android 2.3.5, Sense 3.5)

"Senseless" meaning what? An HTC RUU based ROM with Sense parts stripped out or a proper AOSP/AOKP/CM9 ROM?

I found the easiest workaround is to press and hold, to select text anywhere on screen, which seems to force a refresh.

Yes, this has been my best solution as well.

It's clear from the feedback in this thread that this is an issue with HTC's ICS version of Sense. I wonder what can be done about it?
