Flickering Intro screens
So i recently bought this game and aftermessing with the Quicktime and DirectX issues it finally started up. Then as the intro screens were playing and it goes into the main menu every single screen is like flashing or flickering like its trying to trigger an epileptic seizure or something. I searched and havent found anyone else with this problem so i dont knwo if anyone has any ideas on what i could try. Im running a failry decent laptop, ASUS G73 with an i7 core. Any ideas i am open to trying. Thank you

Flickering
It sounds most like a graphics card problem, possibly an out-of-date driver, especially problematic with laptops, or the card itself. Check the data from the Control Panel against the game specifications. I assume other games or applications run all right.
If the graphics card is built-in, it may not be sufficiently powerful. I had to replace my on-board graphics adapter with something better, an ATI Radeon 4650. This turned out to be only just adequate. Try the driver first, then see about adding graphics memory. Replacing the card should be the last step. V/R, DC |

Well im running tha ATI 5870. And like 2 weeks ago i did a full drivers check and everything is still up to date. But yea everything else runs fine. I play Flight simulator, ship simulator, railworks 2, and all kinds of other games with no issues... I hope i figure this out, i really wanted to try this game.

If it isn't a driver problem (and with other games working properly it probably isn't) then it may be time to take off and nuke them from orbit; it's the only way to be sure. In other words, do a game cache refresh. If you downloaded the game throught Steam, start your Steam client (not the game), right-click Titanic from the list of your games and choose Properties, then select Local Files and click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache. If any files are damaged or missing, this will restore them. Sometimes you have to do this more than once.
If you got the game elsewhere, do an uninstall and reinstall from the disk. |
