How do I make my secondary weapon for Scout and Sniper a dot

I looked at the scripting tutorial, but didn't get much out of it.
I use the stock crosshairs for Scout and Sniper, but I would much rather prefer the crosshair for smg and pistol to be a dot than what it is now. How I do?
