Steam only downloading one game at a time
Anyone else have a problem that Steam only downloads one game at a time? It used to download as many as user wanted but not anymore. All other downloads just show "Update suspended" and if I pause and un-pause them it just changes the game it's downloading.

Go into your Steam Settings, the Downloads + Cloud tab and change the 'Approximate speed of your Internet connection' to 'Cable/Fibre 10M' See if that fixes it. If it does, you may want to lower it a bit to prevent Steam hogging your bandwidth.

It has always been on 'Cable/Fibre 10M'. I have 24Mbps connection.

Try changing the download region, the server you're using could be under heavy load and throttling downloads.

This behaviour is by design. There's now a scheduler under the covers which downloads games one at a time. Alas, the UI for poking it into picking the order you want isn't built yet.
Anyways, it shouldn't be too much of an issue; part of the point is that it concentrates all your bandwidth on each update. It'll open as many connections as possible to the content servers to saturate your connection. |
