New Episode Three concept arts!?

I'd personally love to know why everyone is having a gasket blown: this is old art, 4 years old. Yes, "we haven't seen it before" but like ALL things that develop in stages, all of this concept art is exactly that - conceptual at best. It shows what directions they may have gone IN 2008.

So yay. new arts to look at.

But NOT to speculate over whether it'll all be in the final product! NOT. TO. Speculate!

I'm just curious if this concept art was done recently, or in 2008. The answer would let us know if Valve is still sticking to the storyline they had back in 2008, or if they might have radically changed something.

I personally am really happy because in the last four years we've had only very brief mentioning of Half-Life in interviews and that only mostly unrelated to the game itself or just jokingly.
To have something new, even if it's actually four years old, is pretty refreshing for a change.

Of course the next Half-Life game has undergone massive changes over the past four years but it's not entirely impossible that they may still use some concept that they had planned to use back then. I think it's nice to have something new(old) to speculate about because everything else has been discussed to death and beyond.
Whether it will be used in the final game doesn't really matter much for me.

I recall something similar happening a while ago involving leveraged and a member of Steamcast. They both said (or at least leveraged did) that their sources were reliable, but nothing turned out to be true.

With that aside, good Half-Life content, fake or not, is always well received.

I'd be okay if this was only released because it isn't what the game is going to be like. So when the game does eventually come out, we can see how it evolved. I think it is interesting to see how games evolved from one thing to another.

My thoughts too. If it gets released following this concepts, it'd be the most greet of all 3 episodes at best. At this point, I'm really glad that their plans have changed!

It's fake. None of this fits in with any of HL2's established style, namely the Resistance's clothes. Some of these pictures are meaningless squiggles/swirls. The Advisor looks like it was photoshopped into the picture rather than drawn in, which I've never seen done in real Valve concept-art.
