Should I get this laptop?

Asus K53E-DS31

I will be expanding ram to 6 or 8 and will add the artic silver 5 thermal compound

If you're gaming, no. Intel HD Graphics will slow your graphical performance TONS compared to most laptop mobile graphics cards. For basic computing like Youtube and such, it will do absolutely fine.

No big gaming. Just portal and minecraft and TF2 on the lowest settings

Hmm, seems I stand corrected. Fairly fluid FPS and looks totally playable. And it doesn't even exactly look like ultra-low settings. Games like Portal and HL2 will do just fine on that GFX as well. Minecraft will run quite decently as long as you don't jack the settings up and have a decent amount of RAM. (4GB at the LEAST)

(I'm sorry, but to put my two cents in, those settings look a bit unbearable, but it's all about the preferences of the user!)
