Shogun 2 Error Corrupted Files

Ok wtf fail steam...
I have played shogun 2 for many months without problems, last time i played was monday... now i try to start the game and it gives me an error saying my steam files are corrupted and the cause is likely pirated copies WTF!?
I have a retail version of shogun 2 and have been playing this for months! in fact all of my games currently installed are retail versions. I even reinstalled steam and it still gives the ffing error. I can understand now why people pirate cause when they do they can pass all this

Rage off

That's a common error message I've seen lately. I trust you actually tried to do something about it?

ive never had this issue before but its solved now thanks to the twcenter forum. just deleted the .blob files in steam dir and restart steam did the trick. still thats no reason why my game suddenly should stop working
