Same here. I upgraded my drivers, yesterday. Now, I see large amounts of black tiles that only disappear when I scroll over them, and sometimes I even have to zoom in/out on them to get it to render properly.
This is GeForce GTX 295 w/ 260.99 drivers on win7 x64. I posted a thread regarding this issue on Nvidia's official GeForce & ION forums. http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=185447 Last edited by Broncanous: 11-11-2010 at 05:50 PM. |

Thanks for the link.
Interested to see the responses. I will try and give you rep but it may not succeed given I have not been a Steam member for long. Eitherway good work. EDIT : Just checked, and it is working now. Not sure what threshold I passed over. |

I realise this thread is quite old but the problem still exists.
Here is a phone-cam shot (because Civ crashes when I press F12) http://www.tuxnetworks.com/images/civ-glitch.jpg I have tried latest nvidia drivers and turning down all the video detail levels to low. On the surface this looks like a graphics glitch but it seems to be more related to huge map + marathon game, the further along you get the more the glitch manifests. It doesn't seem to happen at all during the early to middle part of a game. |

I never found a solution for my 8800GT's. I found enough info to convince me it was common problem with the 8800, 9800 and some 270/280 series nvidia cards.
Sorry I can't help. My solution was to upgrade my video card. This is what I'm witnessing through my AMD Radeon HD 7850 playing Gods & Kings. Whenever I scroll in and out, the tiles will alternate between black and displaying correctly. Seems like an old problem, and they still haven't fixed this? |
