Mutliple Flashlights

Hey guys (and girls?), it's been a very long time since I've posted here and I was just wondering a couple of things concerning the flashlight...

I'm looking for a little confermation and possibly a little background on "Multiple Flashlights" as seen in NHRiH. My theory in making this was looping through all the players yadayadayadayada and using the UpdateLight() function to render there flashlights on the client side of the player using their vectors and what not... Would this be a good way of approaching this?

Another idea, was lets say I wanted to re-create Wheatley from Portal 2. Would this flashlight (NOT through hammer please!) be any different from the method I mentioned earlier in this post? or could I simply do this from the client portion of the NPC?

On an off note, does anyone know where I can change the "flashlight glare" in L4D(2) it looks like so and in CSS and DODs it looks god awful...

Hi All,

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm really interested in getting this effect working (that is, all players using projected texture flashlights rather than just the local player). I've followed the projected texture fixes above, but of course the other players' lights are simple dlights. Can anyone give me some pointers on where to look to change this?
