We'll be updating some of the Steam servers on Monday, June 18th, 2012 at approximately 15:00 PDT (GMT-0700) and we should be finished by 15:30 PDT.

We expect all users to be affected, but do not expect all users to be affected at the same time. Chat, game lobbies, and the community web site will be affected for a set of users for a portion of the maintenance. Some content downloads may be briefly interrupted. Game play should generally not be interrupted but may be impacted for some multi-player titles.

Our Steam account servers are being patched right now, Steam clients will experience a short disconnect.

We've updated our plan to spread out the maintenance over a longer period. You may lose your connection to Steam for a couple minutes sometime over the next hour when the server hosting your connection restarts.

We are planning to perform routine Steam server maintenance and updates on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 around 4:30 PM PDT (GMT-0700).

Chat, game lobbies, matchmaking, and the community web site may be unavailable during the maintenance. In-progress content downloads may also be temporarily interrupted. Game play should be unaffected, although some multi-player titles may experience interruptions.

We are currently investigating some issues with community news feeds and group chat. These features may not be working properly at the moment, and we are working to restore them. Game access and multiplayer services are unaffected.

Update, 6:35 PM PST - issues resolved, community and group chat features should now be working properly.
