Question How to get mods to run?

I'm running Civ5 with Gods and Kings expansion and some of the DLC (new civs). I have a few mods (Project R.E.D, Perfect World, clock in Summary view, some rebalance mods) and I have them installed and activated (Showed Enabled in the Mods page), but I do not see any indication of the mods working at all in my game.

I tried reinstalling the game, the mods, making everything running as administrator, but no luck. I checked the mods path and make sure everything in the right location (C:\Users\XXX\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5) and cleared the cache, MODS, and moduserdata, still no luck...

Any ideas on how to make the mods working? Or did the latest July 2nd patch broke all the DLC mods??? Thanks for any assistance!

You went through "Mods" in the main menu correctly, when you decided to start your game?
Many people think that mods simply install globally, i. e. every single player game uses said mods from now on. But mods only apply to any game started from the "Mods" entry in the main menu, _not_ from regular single player. This simply starts a normal game without mods, whether you installed them or not. Took me a while to figure out myself, too.

A good indication is always the presence of the mod selection screen with those checkboxes prior to the game you start. Go into "Mods" from the main menu, click next until you reach another single player menu, then it should work. Otherwise I'd verify the game files, as Civ 5 apparently installed and recognized them, as you said. Don't want to make you look embarassed if you know this obviously, but then it'd be really weird why the game refuses the mods

Hello! I am having the same problem. From what I see the mod menu do no longer have the start game option (since the expansion I mean). I just can't find how to make the mods work.

Have they moved the play function in the mods menu, then to where? I feel like I am missing something very simple here.

Thanks!

Best regards
Amanda

Oh dear Lord, I'm such a dumbass!

You're totally right. I thought that when I clicked Next, it just installed it globally. That was a bit of a hassle to do the mod this way...Anyhow, what happened was I clicked Back after I clicked Next, not knowing that the Single Player is clickable since I thought it is just a notification to let me know that the mods will be usable in Singleplayer only..

Anyhow, it is working fine now, thanks to you! Reps for you. Thanks a lot for not being rude about it also hehe..
