Can I use a Steam Gift for myself?

Hi. I really need to know if it is possible to buy a gift on Steam, but don't actually give to someone.

I was thinking of buying L.A Noire so I could trade it after the Sales are over. But in case I didn't get a good deal, would I be able to use it for myself?

Yeah, you can add it to your library from your inventory.

Oh, thanks. How does the Steam gifts thing work on steam mobile? Do any of you how to buy the game as a gift, not give to anyone, so that I can use the game for myself in the future? Thank you.
