Faulty RAM - will this trigger a VAC ban?

Well, I'm in a bit of a pickle right now.
I got a faulty RAM, and most stuff I download end up getting corrupted and some apps crash with no reason, along with some BSoD.
If I play in a VAC secured server with a faulty RAM, could this trigger a vac ban?
Also, is L4D singleplayer campaigns vac enabled?

Thanks.

No, faulty RAM will not trigger a VAC ban. It used to happen when Valve was still using VAC1, but since the introduction of VAC2 that problem was fixed. That was 2006. So in seven years no one got banned for faulty RAM.

Faulty RAM won't generate a VAC ban

Though you'd be best to fix the issue. If you're running with 2 or more sticks, try pulling out one at a time to determine which one is 'bad'. That way your system will be stable, even if it's with less RAM.

Almost all RAM has a lifetime warranty. Most of the time you can get it replaced for the cost of shipping one way.

You should not be using the machine at all if you know the RAM is faulty; you risk serious data corruption among other things.

Remove and/or replace the RAM and you should be fine.
