What is this uPlay stuff?

I just bought this game from the summer sale, and now its asking me to make an account on a service that isn't up, so that I can play my single player game. What the ♥♥♥♥ this going on here :-(

We just have to wait for Uplay to come back up. :/
I am in the same boat here, can't play it either and I just got it.
Pretty dumb if you ask me, like most DRM services. They hurt more legitimate people than they do anyone else.

In fact uPlay is the same as steam... only it does not work

Also you can't buy games, chat to friends, or use it to install your games anywhere. So it's not like Steam - it's worse. Hope you've learned your lesson - ALWAYS check the forums before buying.

Why would i even want to be online in this game. I regretted bying this the moment i saw this uplay login screen.
Ah yes and i cant play because of the servers... basically ubisoft stole my money just now.

so steam is selling to us games... that you cannot play? cause the host company is not functional?

It's ridiculous that From Dust should even go on sale/be featured on the front page of the store while the uplay servers are down. I hope either Ubisoft bucks their ideas up, I now can not access a game I paid good legitimate money for - and it's a widespread problem.
