Very restrictive without paying

My best units all now need to set out 10 battles leaving me basically gimped unless I pay for them like 13 bucks PER UNIT. This game is very P2WIN, too bad its a lot of fun.

You can get gems easily if you join a clan that owns land, you can join a clan once your level 7.

I doubt anyone would pay $10 just to own a unit.

The game can be played either by buying gems or earning them through clans battles. So you never have to spend anything. But why not give a little cash to a game you like? They have costs they have to pay, there is nothing wrong with supporting a good game. Think of how much money you spend on trivial things each week, spending a little on something you like does not seem all that crazy.
You only need to buy gems if you want to get a quick head start with you army. Just because you have gem units does not mean you will win more. In the end it comes down to player skill and luck.

If people wouldn't pay it then the price would be lowered. If the price stays the same then someone is paying it, odds are quite a few people even. It's sad when people support games like this, because there are developers that would gladly make much better, and much more fun games, but nobody supports them because they're too busy supporting the studio that released real time strategy game #2883 which was built from a template.
