Having difficulty in time selection

In the tutorial, the play head doesn't follow when dragging the zig-zags on both sides of the . And previewing (spacebar+control) causes the play head to 'over play' and not go on the orange selected.

I'm just confused.

Previewing something previews the entire clip from the point of the time slider. Once it hits the end, it should automatically go back to where it started.

I'm not totally sure what you're asking, but I think I answered it...
