Just bought game on daily. Whenever I change my res to 1920x1080, the game crashes to desktop with an error that just says "Fatal error has occured". Anyone else with similar issues? Last edited by Wanakilov4: 07-18-2012 at 05:55 PM. |

Works perfectly on that resolution for me.
Try updating your graphics drivers. |

I did some research and found this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Users3\NewProfile3.xml <Setting Name="optiongrfxres">1024 x 768</Setting> Change: <Setting Name="optiongrfxres">1920 x 1080</Setting> and remember to rightclick on NewProfile3.xml and click propeties and check for Read-only, so the settings doesn 't change when you join the game. Atleast this worked for me and hopefully for others with the same problem =) |

Ooops, sorry I missed this thread until now. Mopi, thanks for posting your solution (and digging to find that XML file, it's a sneaky one)
Wanak, thank you for updating your post to include the solution (and crediting mopi!) Threads like these allow people to often solve issues without emailing me - and that makes me happy too. +rep all around |
