Using Netlimiter while playing WoW or SC2 is still a banable offense and can result in a ban if reported to a GM. As such, it is possible that Warden will one day scan outside of WoW/SC2's address realm and punish for using a bandwidth throttler.

What they CAN check for and ban (in theory!) is specific patterns of lag... For example very low latency and zero packet loss whenever you shoot or cast a spell at someone, but high latency and packet loss at most other times. This indicates that you've bound a key to a bandwidth manager script and are using it to gain an advantage. But this would require a very sophisticated algorithm and a few minutes careful monitoring of the suspect (at least), so I do not think we'll see it any time soon. |

Bandwidth bans are not going to happen.
Anyone banning for any sort of bandwidth limiting is going to quickly loose most of it's customers. Who hasn't been playing a game when someone else on the network was using so much of the bandwidth that you lagged out, seriously eventually everyone except those with a dedicated large bandwidth and windows updates and all other updates set to manual will be banned. Hell you could get banned for downloading a steam game while playing if that was true. You will not get permanently banned for lagging in any game, end of story. Kicked sure, even a temp ban for consistent lagging maybe, but never ever a permanent ban because of bandwidth. If that ever happened there would be a massive thread here about it and believe me if there was one, I would have it linked to this post and be demanding that such foolish bans be removed or made temperary (eg. a couple hours each time). |

Does the "XBOX 360 Controller emulator that replaces xinput1_3.dll in L4D2" refers to TocaEDIT's xBox360ce emulator?
I'd say yes, but I don't really know. |

Valve say core game file dll and exe files can't be changed. I haven't heard banned for modifed vpk. I would suggest it's probably ok as there would be no signature risk, just are vpks core files... as you can make them I would say no. There for I would believe it is safe, if not it should be and I would point support at my statment here and that fact that vpk files can be made by users so you assumed they are safe. |
