Exactly the same specced computer here, and yes it's a HP Pavillion! I've tried connecting an external monitor to it, and it still does exactly the same thing.

So it's not a resolution. Mine notebook is HP Pavilion too. It's really stupid that the specs weren't the first thing the devs asked about.
Maybe it's a switchable graphic issue? 1366x768 is a standard resolution and no normal game has ever had problems with it.

Yep, It definately is. It runs on the Power Saving GPU

I'm getting the same thing. It works when I use the switchable graphics option to change to energy saving mode (Intel), although the screen is off-center. At least it looks to be playable that way though.

So we did some work for the devs. Unfortunately they seem not to care about this issue. Have anyone tried this graphics drivers? They are sad to fix most of the problems with switchable graphics. For some time I'm on mobile internet with transfer limits so I'd rather not try this right now (It requires you to download about 0,5GB of data). If anyone decides to try this, remember to read the readme file.
Devs, are you even reading the posts here?

It would be very nice if the developers fixed this issue, but I don't have high hopes about that.

So, how does the game run with the Intel GPU? How many fps do you get?

Same problem here, Thinkpad T400. The game runs with the power saving graphics card enabled, but that GPU is waaaaay too underpowered. Using the ATI HD 3400, the game does not start with the aforementioned error.
