Please Explain

So I just got a new computer, which was built by my dad and I. The processor was Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.39 GHz. It had 8gb of ram and had a 32-bit operating system, so the computer was unable to see the other 4 gb of RAM. I downloaded TF2 and it was running smoothly, I only lagged when there was like 32 people in a game or something. Besides that, I could play easily. However, my dad wanted to upgrade my computer to 64-bit so my computer could see the remaining 4 gb. He said that my performance would be greatly increased. Once he did that, I had to reinstall TF2 and all my other programs. Then once I launched TF2 and played a game, I lagged like I had 32 ppl in one game when infact, I only had 6 ppl. Something was up, so I decided to play training to see if it was just the server. So I played training mode and I was lagging even worse than an online server. I lowered the settings and no effect happened. So my question is WHY 64-bit slowed down my computer when 32-bit worked much better.

I knew it 64-bit was affecting tf2.

So looks like I will stay on 32 so everything is compatible.

hmm, your either a liar or incompetent with computers.

lying would entail misrepresenting your computer's performance previously.

incompetence would be not installing video card drivers.

Well. What everyone said. You need 64 bit drivers.

Also, since you're installing drivers, if you have any kind of demanding games, now it's the time to start testing new and old drivers to see which one works best for you.

BTW 30x Nvidia drivers lower the framerate of my game, don't know if related anyhow.
