That would be the DRM, yes. Not only is Bioshock 2 saddled with Securom, it also has the ultra annoying Games For Windows Live requirement just to save your progress in the game you paid for. I refuse to throw money at this kind of nonsense.

Nope. I thought it did on the first sale so I passed it up, then I noticed it didn't the 2nd and picked it up.

It used to, but they took it out of the Steam version.

We preordered the special edition of this game with the big daddy statue, and the launch was a complete shambles. The game only had *TWO* allowed activations when it dropped, and the authentication servers were down, and people used up both activations trying to play the game they'd just bought. In addition, even the DEMO had securom on it, and to top it all off the big daddy statues were broken in half of the cases.

Seems 2K didn't learn their lesson the first time around at all.

Yep, Bio1 is DRM-free and totally worth buying.
Bio2 is crippled, and isn't.

Please don't spread nonsense. Bioshock 2 works just fine. The only time you even have to see GFWL is the 2 seconds it pops up when you log in. After that you never even have to look at it.

It's not "nonsense" to be personally opposed to DRM, get a clue and realize that many people actually care about DRM infesting their games. This kind of attitude is just unnecessary and rude.

It had it at one point? Never noticed...

huh...

I never noticed that it had DRM, guess that tells you something about securom... Unless you have a ton of babies ing about it, it is hardly noticeable.

This is exactly what I'm talking about...why do people feel this need to berate, harass, incite, irritate or otherwise sneer at people just because they've had negative experiences with things that you have not? It doesn't make their complaint any less valid...how about you all just try to act like civil people for once. Do you also go to cancer wards and smack talk the kids who are sick because you've never had cancer?

The immaturity and lack of empathy these days is staggering.
