Augh, yeah. Half an hour later I'll be able to do it again.

I lurrv caressing levers - and panting well that goes out of the window.! Thanks I actually moved about 10 feet and then slipped back into oblivion. But many thanks - as they say practice makes perfect.

Yes this slope is a very tough one. Like Wotawally, I had hard times with this and if you mess the start you won't climb and in this case, restarting is only a dream. An excellent challenge for steam locomotive driving.

Steam locomotives are the most difficult, and most rewarding in this sim. Takes a bit of a challenge (pun intended) to drive them. And a lot of sand on an uphill start. You just gotta practice! Don't throw RW out the window if you don't make it thru one scenario! Go to a diesel, then after a while, go back to steam.

And, remember, not all scenarios can be completed anyways. Many are broken with TS2012/ RW3. Don't get more grey hairs over it.

Starting a Steam Engine on an Uphill Incline

Just thought I would add my bit to briefly explain how to start a Steam Loco on an upgrade. Ensure you have good steam pressure, Have the brakes released just enough to hold the train in place. Push the Reversing lever fully forward (either 75% or 100%, depending on how the engine has been scripted) Ensure the cylinder are closed, the class 56 mite be a problem) Slowly open the regulator and give some sanding and release the brakes fully. Now slowly increase the regulator, being careful that the wheels don't slip. (If they start to slip, ease the Regulator/Throttle back a bit). As you gain speed you can do all or some of the following. Turn off the sanding, Notch the Reversing lever back a little at a time (this is like moving a car into a higher gear - With the lever at 75 or 100 per cent is like being in low gear and uses a lot more steam from your boiler) Notching back to say 30% or less is like being in top gear, uses less steam and is best when on the flat going. I hope this is of some help to new comers to Steam Locomotives. Have fun.

Nice tutorial Roland.

I love to have the cylinder c.o.c.k. changed into cylinder with four violet hearts.

Another American puritanism manifestation. For sure trains lovers are obviously f.u.c.k.i.n.g p.e.r.v.e.r.t.

Some mother may have said ! Oh my G.o.d. ! Such a big cylinder c.o.c.k ! This game is certainly not for my little innocent child.

Put the throttle at full you when first start moving then slowly decrease the reverser to 50% then the engine should speed up. Then decrease the throttle to 80% and so on. That should get you moving.
