Listen, are you sure that 5 times scanning is enough/right? You scanned at 13 pm. At 14 pm you install the new "game" (or it installs itself), which is actually an undetected rootkit. It will change your bootsector, it will hide itself, it will open a backdoor, it will load new features, it could include your machine into a botnet. After that it will erase/modify the installer. The hacker has access to your screen, your keystrokes.
At 17 pm you are going to do your usual scan.
Even IF (read IF!) your antivirus got a definition of this virus meanwhile, it will not help you though! Because the rootkit is allready running, and doing its best.
And guess what, after your scan comes with a "clean-result", and you are happy, maybe you hear in the distance someone laughing. Thats the hacker.
Nothing is more reliable than a victim who is thinking: I am safe.


And anyway:
You dont trust your antivirus guard to protect you (and thats healthy!). But why on earth do you think, you have to use its scan function VERY often to compensate this lack? That is not smart.

Please use a host intrusion protection (because your topics are making me sad ), try a good one which doesnt ask for payment first (host intrusion protection: nothing can run without a given permission). Dont scan like mad. Dont lose yourself in worries like those in your topics.
And a two way firewall, i am sure you have it, yes?
You can get both in one program.
