If the OP is gonna get a better PSU JUST for that card, then he may as well save up for a better or atleast recent graphics card as well.

For the record, my Previous HP Desktops Powersupply did come with a 6pin PCI-E, and that was like 5 years ago or so, so it is possible.
I have bought numerous HP/Compaq desktops and they have have all had cheap 250 or 300 watt psus. not one of those ever had a 6 pin connector. some of the higher end models with better psus will but certainly not a typical one you find at Wal Mart or Best Buy especially not 5 years ago.
