Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi or Recon3D PCIe then there the Asus DX or Xonar Phoebus and Auzentech Auzen X-Fi

There is a difference. A good sound card is capable of producing a much better sound quality. But you need to have good headphones and/or good speakers.

I suspect those who say there is no difference tried with regular speakers or headphones.

Yes i suppose. But tbh its going to be hard guessing wether the sound im listening to is good enough and if any improvements can be made by installing a sound card. As i wont obviously be able to do a before and after unless i buy a sound card.
