Saints Row 3: Runs Slow on capable pc

I bought SR:3 during the summer sale, I just got around to playing it upon starting it up, the intro videos begin lagging badly, the main menu shows the same, i tried out survival mode with all setting on lowest with windowed resolution 640x480. the only time i get good frames per seconds is when i focus the camera on the ground.

I am at a loss, with no idea how to fix this.

here is my pc specs via DXDiag

My PC is worse than yours and runs it on Ultra fine. Saints Row does have an issue with certain GPU/Mobo combos I've heard however.

I wouldn't recommend this unless you know that is the problem.

i looked at your specs and it should run even the latest games.

either 1.) you need to update your bios (be very careful if you do though) or 2.) it's probably your graphics card not taking SR3 well. did you update your graphics card?

EDIT: 3.) delete SR3 and do a complete re-install.

Updating the BIOS fixes only crashes related to AMD FX CPUs and CEG. This is in no way related to slow performance without crashed. The user is not complaining about crashes but about bad performance.

Yes, it also affects slow performance. This has been well documented for many CEG games.

It has to be the motherboard. My little brother has a very similar computer and the same motherboard as the OP. I flashed it for him, and it worked. Try doing the same.

It looks like until THQ releases a patch for amd cards, SR:3 is not gonna be played. I will not mess around with my bios, and i have no clue on the subject of "flashing" my motherboard. Sounds like something you'd do to a game console in order to play "backups"

SR3 is known to have various issuse with AMD based cards and even Nvidia ones

On my system I get weird 'pauses' every once and awhile in the game. The game just pauses, like it's frozen, then after about 2 seconds it's fine. It's perplexing on a GTX670

btw made this cause of this issue http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2279474

Borderless windowed mode got FPS higher for me, obviously don't use rediculous AA as its not needed to be high when you play at 1080p.
