Nah, it's a piece of cake. I've flashed literally dozens and dozens of boards and I can count the number of misflashes on a single finger, and that board was already glitchy to begin with. Many better motherboards today have a backup BIOS so even if you misflash, you can still boot and try again.

It probably doesn't hurt that I am using AMD video on an AMD chipset motherboard. My board is a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3.

The problem some people are having could be with the motherboard PCIe timing between Intel chipsets and AMD cards. AMD and Intel don't always play nice together, at least not at first. They'll get the kinks out eventually.
