Remove Vac Ban

Can I get a vac ban removed from an account if the ban was issued like 7 years ago?

VAC bans are permanent and irrevocable. It is possible that if you had an ancient "timed ban" and it has failed to expire despite it meeting it's deadline, Steam Support (open a ticket) might consider it a bug and revoke it. However, as all VAC bans have been permanent for some time, it is more likely they'll tell you that your VAC ban was fairly earned and it will stand.

Seven years ago, damn you must have go one of the first permanent bans. I would login and check make sure it hasn't been removed already. If not sorry, no bans are removed any more. The last 5 year bans ended not long ago.

Not a single VAC ban has ever removed.

Ignorant. VAC1 unbanned players after 5 years,it stopped in 2008 and Valve made VAC2 and all bans are permanant.

You might be on the edge of those 'temp' bans they were doing for VAC1. You can log in and see if your old profile still is VAC banned. Other than in those 'rare' cases, VAC bans are currently permanent.

I got banned from using the paranoia mod for HL:1 so technically I didn't cheat. I find it frustrating that I have that VAC bans on record thing on my profile even though it wasn't a hack. One thing I wish that could be done is that we don't remove the VAC ban, just that damn red text on my profile. I would be happy to keep the ban but just take the dang red text off of my profile for a price or something. I have a hard time joining clans and making friends on steam because of it. Surely it wouldn't undermine VAC to remove the text after a set amount of time but just keep the actual ban.

As far as I know, everyone who got banned for using Paranoia mod was unbanned after the glitch was discovered. Other than that, I don't know what else to say except either check if your old account is still banned, or if it is send a support ticket explaining why you were banned. I'm sure it can be verified with the data in their database. Also, if your ban is still active, it will definitely show up as VAC1 ban, regardless of VAC2 being the current one.

I got banned in 2009 so for some reason I'm VAC2 banned. I contacted steam support a while ago and they refused to lift it for some reason. It's only the GoldSource games so its not a huge deal its just frustrating for that red text to be there.

I already contacted steam support they refused to lift the ban for some reason. AFAIK it's a VAC2 ban so it will not be lifted after a while and its permanent. It's for the GoldSource Engine games only so its not a huge deal ( I don't play them anymore) it's just annoying to have that big red text for Naming and Shaming on me. I honestly don't care if they don't lift the ban just give the option to remove the text after a set amount of years and I would be happy.

No one got unbanned, since they clearly modified a core game file. It doesn't matter if their intention was to enhance the graphics. A modification of core game files is a valid reason for a permanent ban.

Keep in mind that that file of the paranoia mod is optional. You have to add it manually.
