Lightbulb Winger thread #6342

The winger is a weapon which is commonly considered to be UP, so i dicided to buff it in a game changeing way. what if the winger still had a 60% smaller clip but added a passive ability, this passive ability would make you start out with -25% accuracy and +25% damage falloff (a bad thing becuse less long range damage) but for every pellet hit both of these stats increse by 1% (a decent amount considering the 10 pellets per scattergun shot) but for every shot missed -2% of both taken away from the stats accumulated (obviously stoping when stats hit the base amount). this new winger would still retain a +15% damage, but would also have a -10 health stat to keep it balnced with the other upsides.

In other words heres the reworked winger i have in mind.

The Winger
Level I forgot
+15% dammage
Accuracy increses based on pellets hit, capping at +50%
Damage falloff decreses based on pellets hit capping at 50% less falloff
-10 Health (unsure about if this is neccicary)
-60% clip size
-25% accuracy on all weapons
+25% dammage falloff
BLAH BLAH BLAH TINFOIL BLAH BLAH

So any suggestions or ideas? is it OP or UP or is it juuuuuuuuust fine?

What is not simple about it?

its a eyelander with accuracy and falloff damage as opposed to speed and shield damage.

The complexity of it promotes different playstyles.

though i can see where your coming from. It is quite unusual in terms of what ot does. I just dont feel that the wingers last resort style of gameplay brings anything new to how one plays a game

Good ideas, simplify the stats so you don't hurt people's brains.

Also, the minus 10 health is unnecessary.

Not sure how i could go about simplifying the stats descriptions so its the same, but easy to understand. I will place the health subtraction as a possible atribute. thanks for the feedback. vaccation sucks. bad.

please elaberate so i can understand just exactly why? i think a passive secondary, that can potentialy increse the range a scout can be effective from is a good idea, plus its much better off than it was before. but maybe i just dont see why it would be ineffective.

Wait, does it increase accuracy on all weapons?

I still say a simple damage buff to 25% with no extra add-ons would suffice.

Yeah this is a serious Cow Mangler job Doctor. It's a pistol, even the PBPP has simpler stats than this.

Even then, I'm not sure I would equip a pistol that decreases my accuracy with 'all weapons' either. Think of synergy with the Bonk Boy (#1 Fan is it?) set and then the weapon itself.

The Public Enemy set did a good job of this, the pistol helping with the no-jumping style of the Scattergun and boosting health on a Scout is always handy and syncs well with the previously suicidal Candy Cane to boot.

The -10 health is completely pointless and deter 90% of players from using it. The -25% accuracy should only apply to the winger. IMO without these changes it's UP.

Meh, cant say my idea wasnt orginal, but it is a tad bit too complex for a pistol, might work as a 4shot scattergun.

You're not listening.

It's too complicated for any weapon.

You've just suggested a Scattergun even more complex and odd than your pistol design.

It's original but waay too complex for an FPS game.
