Did you still install 4.11 before 4.11.1?

I usually do the entire process incrementally so I can get on certain online servers. 4.10, 4.10.1, then 4.11, and 4.11.1. There's a 4.11.1 "megapatch" you can look for too

5% crash is bad patching.

Reinstall, test Steam starting version 4.09.
Install 4.10 patch, test.
Install 4.11 patch, test.
Install 4.11.1 patch, test.

I could not get the program to launch from either the desktop or from within Steam. This was on a new system running windows 8. I then tripped over this thread in the Technical section of the 1C forum. I copied the two small files as instructed, ran the .exe file and "we have liftoff". Game runs great. Check it out

Hello all. I got IL2 1946 for Christmas and am just now getting around to installing it. It is the dvd and is version 4.07. I installed it into D: IL2 and it is working......sort of. So here I am. The 1st post in this thread is full of info, but I still need some help. Where and how do I patch it from 4.07 to at least 4.09?

There's a mega-patch to 4.10.1, and I think there is one for 4.11.1!

I spent yesterday and last might wandering through the threads and finally figured out how to get those patches. I am now patched up to 4.11.1. Patch 4.10 was the only one that had to be done over. The hardest part for me was finding patches to get from 4.07 to 4.10.

Spent a few hours flying around. I am just about good enough to shoot up a bomber flying in formation and not shooting back. Still need to work more on setting up the controls and such.
Hehe. That Brewster Buffalo is a strange plane. I have not flown since 1999, but do not remember stalling out at 300kph.

Sorry, I guess I should've been more explicit. These megapatches include everything you need. If you get the 4.10.1 megapatch, it'll get you from 4.07 to 4.10.1

You might also consider the HSFX6 supermod that quite a few servers are using. My suggestion would be to keep a vanilla 4.11.1 installation, copy it over somewhere, and install the modpack over that. If anything goes wrong, you've got a backup

You can always get into high-speed stalls by yanking the stick hard enough. Some people use it to do snap-rolls
