Good durable headset

Hi

I've had the SteelSeries 5HV2 headset and I loved every minute of it... ...while it lasted . I've gone through 2 in about 2 years. The ing cord is to blame! It shorts out.

At first it wasn't that bad I just had to fiddle with the jack a bit to get a good reception, but now its very hard to do so. I'm sitting on the edge of a couch and I have to string out the cord over the armrest to make it as straight as possible. Dammit!

Does anyone know any good sounding headsets out there with DURABLE cords? The SteelSeries ones are so flimsy and twist.

Hm, I have the Steelseries V2 Siberia and I'm quite happe, except the extension cord is probably the worst one I've seen so far. I'd recommend an AKG. Or depending on your Budget one of the Beyerdynamic ones.

Wireless blows, don't even think about it. Go for a good high quality music headset and a clip-on mic.

Audio Technica ATH-AD700 (seems to be the best balance of quality + price, very popular)

Zalman Clip-on mic - cheap and good

i use senheisser HD 598 and a logitech mic plugged into my keyboard's USB slot. i bought them for 240 half a year ago, and i invested in a little headphone stand so i don't drop them (which was the death of my last logitech headphones)

i don't have an amp but they seem to run work great. i may get one later.

my only complaint is they're too noise canceling. some people like that, i don't. i still use my logitech g35's when i have people over, so i can hear them talk and not go total gaming mode

How are the Razor headsets? I'm looking for a gaming headset that has high quality sound like the SteelSeries cause I use them to game as well.

Razer's build quality is usually pretty questionable. My Deathadder has held up the past 1.5 years until now the thumb button is breaking, but there are too many horror stories out there of them.

If you like Steelseries, check out the Siberia V2. It was my first headphone setup. Other than a crack in the left earcup and the retractable mic not going back into the hole anymore, it's fine, and I've thrown it a couple times I think (owned it for almost 1.5 years as well). Sound quality is pretty great for music and games.

Siberia it is. Looks to have a more durable cord encased in rubber. Thanks
