Admin abuse
What is the policy on admin abuse? It's rather dishonorable. I'm not to shabby of a player, often times I rank the highest on the team. I was just on a server, and a guy broke away from the pack, so I hunted him down and pounced him, but before he died, he went invincible. And it was like that with his friends also. So, hackers get VAC banned, but people with admin privileges can openly abuse them and use to completely destroy the concept of the game, and it's totally cool. I'm confused?

Just blacklist the server and never play on it again. It's the best thing you can do as there really is no alternative I'm afraid. The admin can do as he please as it's his server.

Even if the admin is killing enemy players with admin powers, calls your mother etc there's nothing you can do. You just have to deal with admin abuse.

Admins pay for their servers. They own/rent them and therefore have the right to do basically whatever they want with them.
If Valve were to attempt to put rules for admins in place then it would really inhibit the amount of positive changes admins can make and would discourage people from buying their own server. If the admin doesn't want to play fair, then don't play with him at all. |

I know admins lease their servers. What does a L4D cost nowadays? 8 dollars? Big money. But VALVe owns the game. It's like saying if someone owns a printing press, then they can print the works of authors without worry. Which leads me to reasonably conclude that VAVLe lets them do it, and only because VALVe lets them, can they. I propose that servers participating in dishonorable acts, such as cheating, be delisted from the public directory. They can still operate and people can still join them if they want. But, users won't be able to connect to it via Quick Match.

it would be nice if servers were listed from a 'cheat check'. Players would then visibly know that they're about to be beaten to a pulp by cheaters. It might actually reduce the amount of cheating admins/servers. Who knows

Admin "abuse" sucks, but other times it's awesome and extremely fun. L4D is small enough now that recognising bad servers shouldn't be too hard. |
