Misleading title but hopefully it will get attention (I love attention!)

It's actually a question: will the price change when the game is actually released? Because if it is going to go up then I should pre-order now, but I would like to wait a bit and buy it later if not.

Really unlikely. When the pre-order is discounted they usually sell it as such ("Buy early for 20% off!", etc). I've never seen a list price bump up after release. They do seem to be counting the free copy of TL1 as a the pre-order bonus, so that might disappear after.

They are advertising it as $20 at release "just like Torchlight 1" so I do not think it will ever go more than $20, unless bundled with something in the future.

No change, but I wouldn't expect to get Torchlight 1 for free after TL2's release.

it's unlikely that the price would go up upon release but as mentioned already, you will lose the 20% pre-order discount and a free copy of TL1.

Are you kidding me?! They're going to INCREASE the price AFTER they REPEATEDLY PHAIL on release targets?

I've already decided to cancel my own pre-order in order to see IF they ACTUALLY CAN DELIVER... I just don't have any confidence in that, unfortunately...

Did you bother to read the post you quoted? Because it's an official statement saying exactly the opposite of what you're choosing to get angry about.

they have to release it or give everyone their money back, some people think like the world is in a medieval society.

the price will not change, the pre order bonuns is that you receive the first game, you might still get that after its released if you buy it. i think the reason it isnt 10% off for pre purchases is because they dont know when its out and if its just 2 for even this long (i dont know how many they have sold) they would have probably lost a million dollars at least, it was top selling on steam for a while (until that steam summer sale)

Cutterjohn already ranted about his opinions of release dates on the official forums, to the point where the president of the company asked him what it would take to make him happy short of releasing an unfinished game before its time, and he had no real answer.

The game will be out when it's done. The free copy of TL1 will almost certainly go but I'd doubt the four pack would go, as it's a great way for them to spread the word and sell more copies.

Since I already own Torchlight 1 I don't see any incentive to get it pre-ordered.

And I do think they will deliver, actually I'm positive of it, everyone who thinks otherwise is just trying to get attention by being a drama queen.

Like others said I seriously doubt the price will increase. More likely you won't get the TL1 copy anymore if anything. If you already owned TL1 then this probably isn't a very good pre-order bonus so it won't really matter to you when you decide to buy the game.

Runic is adamant about the $19.99($20) price. To raise the price on release without any warning at the least is dishonest and at the most unethical/illegal(gouging).
