Dota 2 Pool Punishment- not fair - Page 2

Yeah am AFK for Posting here leaving dota 2 window, Just have to click the Play button. when I got it says I already left. WTF... am getting tired here. I'll go back to war3.. TSk! BRB when theres no issue for BUGGING rules.

Just to clear some things up the system now is VERY flawed.

your gonna throw me in a low priority pool? with who knows how many others....its not really punishment when it only takes 3-8 mins longer to find a match. mind you its a pool of leavers but the pool is so huge theres really no cons to it as i still get matches very fast for being in low priority

It's either an extremely rare bug (never happened to me in 450 games), as you should never get an abandon if someone else abandons, or you really abandoned a game, forgot, and now think that you earned it from someone else leaving.

Were you partied with this person? If they abandon and then you queue up with them in the party, then you will be in the leaver's bracket because the leaver is in your party. You would exit it as soon as that leaver left your party.

It's clear from the OPs responses in this thread that he is likely the cause of his own abandonment bracket.

i think there is a bug with that "sanction" itself. i mean i have 200+ games played and 1 abandoned game which i got a few months ago and it was due to a technical problem and since yesterday i started getting the punishment pool message and i have no idea why.

Maybe post the MatchID so we can take a look? Most likely you just plain DC'ed before the game was safe to leave; even when another player dc's it takes a few minutes before the game is safe to leave.

Only the 5-man vs. bots. You can still play a bot game by yourself and safely leave.

Although it sucks to get leaver status due to technical issues, the game itself cannot be responsible for what was YOUR responsibility.

It was not because of your teammate that you got an abandon. This simply doesn't happen. Either you left a game yourself (if you left after someone else did, but they came back before they got the abandon then you will get one), you afk'd, or you got reported and punished for something you did. It's not the game's fault, it's yours.

Wouldn't be "ruined" if Valve was arsed to actually make DC'd characters AI controlled. At least it wouldn't be 4v5 the rest of the game if he doesn't come back.

Even that is problematic. The AI is either too good (particularly in that sometimes AI uses "cheating" algorithms that see in the fog of war or split-second reactions) or too bad (an AI controlled feeder is arguably worse than what it currently does, which is direct the nonplayer straight back to the fountain).

It's just plain good that players are punished suitably for abandoning and ruining matches.
